On Saturday I took Corina to Venice Beach. I attempted to save money by taking a picnic. It was picturesque and delicious, although I still spent $43 after parking, dessert, and rides on the Santa Monica Pier. Sigh.

This morning we ran the Run or Dye 5k where they throw powder dye at you throughout the “race.” That’s in quotations on purpose. I don’t want to say that it was the biggest waste of time ever, but it was close. No one ran, they didn’t time it, and there were no orange wedges at the end. There’s some bullshit in their site about how it’s about the “joy of life,” not competition, so it was basically everything I hate. Next time we’ll have to read the description more carefully.

More coming soon!
I had such a great time - it was worth every penny!! (And worth the travel trouble I had on the way home. My flight was late out of Baltimore so everyone missed their connections in Phoenix. I got a hotel room and flew out Monday morning. All’s well that ends well!)
Are you still thinking about those popsicles? I am. What a lovely walk that was.

The worst thing in the world right now is that you and I do not have a shared backyard in which to host bi-weekly outdoor-movie-night-picnics.
I have no reason to buy these forks. What is the point of anything.

Christy, my bangs are working it so hard right now. They are just full of swoops and face framing.
Tonight we had a fancy cocktail party for my work.
Pros: free booze and all you can eat fresh, Seattle oysters flown in this morning (they were incredible), Travis in a suit.
Cons: It seems fun to drink free booze and eat good food, but you’re still just dressed up in a convention room. It’s like prom. Which I didn’t really like. And the steak was over cooked by about a day.
But, really, Travis in a suit. God bless Zara.

Hola! I looked through my phone to see what pics I could share with you. I regret to say that if you judged me by my phone photos, you would find me SO boring. (Does this mean I am boring in real life? Are we our phones? Existential crisis coming in 3…2…1…)
The first photo is a beautiful scene that I saw at the bottom of my hot chocolate mug one morning. Behold the art, Amber. I did that with mere gulping - NO HANDS.
The second one: Stacy won a free night in a Disneyland hotel, so on Saturday I joined her and her roommates (Allison pictured) for a pub crawl through California Adventure before crashing for the night at the Grand Californian. Fun right?! I wish you could have been there. I’m wearing a top hat because there’s a dance party over by the Monsters, Inc. ride that is Mad Hatter themed. As you know, I am one part Fred Astaire and one part dollar store pimp; the plastic white top hat really captures my essence.
Finally, one night last week I was so tremendously sad that being alone made my hands shake. So I more or less demanded that Stacy invite me over and buy this pizza for me. The crust is cups of cheese. It was not refreshing, hopeful or healing, but I won’t tell you it wasn’t satisfying.
PS Whenever I think of Fred Astaire I think of the little head shake he does at 1:20 in this video and a tiny crush flower blooms in my rib bones.

We came to the tidal basin for The cherry blossoms. It’s full of tourists and I hate people, but I’m trying to remember that every has a right to enjoy the Capitol. This is inside the Jefferson Memorial. We need to add an “escaping from the rain/first kiss in the Jefferson Memorial” scene to our rom com. It would be great.

Lady Alyss of Hearts: No Homestucks Allowed: The Beginning of Fandom Segregation.
I apologize for the title, but it becomes prevalent at the end.
I’ve already said this one time tonight, so I guess I’ll have to say it again.
Fandoms are NOT entirely made up of ignorant assholes that only wish to takeover, corrupt, and destroy others. They are NOT the sum of their hate or…
Christy, I just wanted to share this important PSA with you because. Maybe substitute 1D for Homestuck.

I know, I’m the worst!!! I’m saaaaaassrry!
It’s spring! Everyone has come to DC for the Cherry Blossom festival but they haven’t come out yet (THANKS, GLOBAL WARMING). Anyway, yesterday I got off work at 3 and walked around the hill. It was the nicest half sunny/half cloudy day ever. AND when you come to visit/live with me forever, we can rent a paddle boat and stare at monuments!
Anyway, half days should be spent on happy hour drinks with you. I miss you.
